![]() Precooked and Dehydrated Kunde Beans Vigna unguiculata a.k.a. giraffe beans The first archaeological finding of Kunde beans were in central Ghana around 1400 B.C. Kunde beans are still widely cultivated in the savannas of Africa. The popularity of the Kunde bean in Africa can be compared with that of pinto beans in Mexico or black beans in Cuba. Kunde beans have a very mild flavor, reminiscent of blackeyed beans. Their delightfully firm texture makes them an excellent choice for cold salads as well as hot savory dishes. Their mild flavor blends well with curries. Cilantro also compliments the flavor of the Kunde bean.
